Song
Intro (Spoken):
Times like these come only once.
These memories will live in our hearts and minds
For many years to come.
But with all the great times we've had,
I feel that it's time the world knew about them.
Verse 1:
Every moment we've spent together
Will live within my heart forever
All our memories stored inside
Flying across the screen of my mind
Happy days, or days so blue
I can't stop thinking about you
To ensure all these memories live on
I'll tell the world our story in a song
Chorus:
Right now I can hear our song
Playing on the radio
I can hear the strumming of the guitar
And the notes of the piano
I can hear a soprano singer's voice
As she tells our story to the crowd
And I can see the smile on your face
As our memories are read aloud
I can hear our song
Verse 2:
Every time that I'm with you
I write down everything we say and do
Sometimes I feel like I can rewind
Through the tape that is my mind
And then just let the footage play
So I can remember all of yesterday
Thrash together the best bits, be they right or wrong
So the world will hear our story in a song
Chorus:
Right now I can hear our song
Playing on stage as part of a tour
I can hear the backup singers' voices
Blowing the house down ever more
I can hear the crowd going wild
I can see them raise their coloured lights
I can see music producers shake your hand
As they produce the song you helped me write
I can hear our song
I can hear our song
I can hear our song
About the Song:
The idea for Song just came into my head. It follows two close friends, one of whom is writing a song about their relationship and predicting the outcome of the song. No music has been written yet.

Why Am I With You? (Original Song)
Why Am I With You?
Written in 2002 (exact date unknown)
Re-written in November 2004
Intro:
I made a terrible mistake
I thought I could trust you in the past
But you led me in a trap, that ain't good enough
This journey together, could be our last.
Chorus:
Why am I with you?
You can't do things right any time
Bringing trouble is a crime
You are so hopeless
Look at me and look at you
The things you made me do
This might be right for you
Why am I with you?
Verse 1:
You're a stranger to me
And I thought you were my friend
But since you played a trick on me
This friendship has come to an end
I don't need you
Just who d'you think you are?
You're a wolf in sheep's clothing
This has gone too far
Chorus:
Why am I with you?
You can't do things right any time
Bringing trouble is a crime
You are so hopeless
Look at me and look at you
The things you made me do
This might be right for you
Why am I with you?
Verse 2:
Are you evil deep inside?
Do you work for the devil?
You think you're on the same side as me
Well I'm not on your level
Guess what, you stranger
Look what you did to me now
I ate to tell you this but...
You're sending me to early hell
Chorus:
Why am I with you?
You can't do things right any time
Bringing trouble is a crime
You are so hopeless
Look at me and look at you
The things you made me do
This might be right for you
Why am I with you?
About the Song:
Why Am I With You? was the first song I ever wrote. The original version, written in 2002, consisted only of the intro and the first half of Verse 1 (which at the time were all part of one verse) and the chorus. Two years later, I updated the song to what it is today; splitting up the first verse and adding a little bit onto it, and adding a second verse. Although Why Am I With You? was the first song I ever wrote and put a lot of effort into over the years, no music has been written.

Four Years Gone (And I Wonder Why) (Original Song)
Four Years Gone (And I Wonder Why)
Written in July 2009
Verse 1:
At first it was just you and me
Good friends but you could say more
And then this guy just came to me
And my heart began to soar
And although we became closer
I was still crazy over you
Didn't know how you'd feel, so I kept them sealed
Wish I'd said my feelings true
Now I'm in this position which I feel wrong
All these memories of you float by
Four years gone
And I wonder why
Chorus:
Four years gone
And I wonder why
I was the slut I used to be
All these memories running through my head
Of him and you and me
I thought I had the perfect love
Til I watched you ride away
Then I saw you crash your motorbike
Your last breaths dying away
Verse 2:
You and I were meant to be
But my feelings stayed locked in
And then when he came on the scene
His looks pulled me close to him
It opened all the doors for me
I was well-known with girls and men
You drifted out of the clouds of my mind
My heart beat for reasons unknown then
We were nothing like I was with you
I was merely seeking fame
And as time went by I realised instead
I loved the guy who had no name
Chorus:
Four years gone
And I wonder why
I was the slut I used to be
All these memories running through my head
Of him and you and me
I thought I had the perfect love
Til I watched you ride away
Then I saw you crash your motorbike
Your last breaths dying away
About the Song:
This idea just popped into my head. The story follows a girl who is in a love triangle with two boys, one of whom has just died via a motorbike crash. Four years before his death, they were very good friends, but she had romantic feelings for him which she kept private. Then, suddenly, a handsome and popular guy arrives on the scene and she instantly falls in love with him, becoming popular and forgetting about her friend, although her heart beats every now and then for reasons she cannot imagine; truly, she has no feelings for this handsome guy; she is just seeking popularity. Her less popular friend gives up on her and rides away on his motorbike, only to crash and die. The girl looks back on her past two relationships, wondering why she kept her true feelings for her friend a secret and why she was such an attention seeker.
The music for Four Years Gone, although not fully written yet, is written by a friend of mine, Ross Thompson. The completed version may or may not include the word "slut".

Promises (Original Song)
Promises
Written in March 2009
Verse 1:
Before I met you, I never knew the meaning of "I love you",
"Will you hold me tight?" and "I want you here tonight"
But I learned it would develop into "You're my forever"
"We can do this together" and "It's now or never"
Now I know that the last one is true
When it comes to me and you
We were doing okay when we first met
Then the obstacles came and the trap was set
Chorus:
Promises
Why do people make them?
When all they're gonna do is break them?
Over and over again
Promises
Why do people say them?
And then how do you repay them?
When your love comes to an end
Verse 2:
When I met you, I thought we'd last eternally
Like a true love, rather than a love at first sight
Now I don't know what to do or say
My life's so dramatic right now it feels like a play
Now I really don't know the deal
But it seems like this play is real
When we met, never did I worry
But now my life's getting rather blurry
Chorus:
Promises
Why do people make them?
When all they're gonna do is break them?
Over and over again
Promises
Why do people say them?
And then how do you repay them?
When your love comes to an end
Spoken:
Well I've enjoyed the last few days.
But now I need to go away.
Maybe a week, maybe a month or a year
I don't know. (Sung)But I know I'm not wanted here.
Chorus:
Promises
Why do people make them?
When all they're gonna do is break them?
Over and over again
Promises
Why do people say them?
And then how do you repay them?
When your love comes to an end
My love's come to an end
My love's come to an end
About the Song:
This idea was initially part of a musical I was writing last year, but I decided to give up on the project for various reasons. This is the first song I have written that has music and the first I have written broadcasted on YouTube. The plot follows a girl who has just caught her boyfriend cheating, and she talks about the promises he has made and broken, and that promises are just a waste of time as people always break them anyway.
The music to Promises was written by John Salib aka YouTube user oOoForsakenoOo. Here is a YouTube video (well, audio) clip of him singing the song.
